Creating a safe environment for all
Zoos and wildlife parks play an important role in the protection, education, and research of endangered species. Many have dedicated breeding programmes to help species come back from the brink of extinction.
Zoo security is not just about creating a secure and safe environment for both animals and visitors, but also, sadly, to protect against theft.
Security is a huge consideration for various entertainment, leisure and wildlife venues around the world. Our range of fencing can help to keep people safe in:
- Sporting venues
- Transport hubs and stations
- Bars
- Places of worship
- Restaurants
- Shopping centres
- Public events
- Music venues
- Theme parks
- Waterparks
Getting the right solution for a zoo or wildlife park requires years of experience and knowledge. That's why at CLD Systems, we have worked with zoos, police, and security and safety advisers to create our range of zoo and wildlife park fencing systems. Our double-wire Dulok zoo fencing system has been designed to allow clear and safe viewing and has additional security features that make it perfect for your next zoo fencing or wildlife project.
We ensure all stakeholders in the project are engaged from the outset. Our specialist Installer Partners will visit a site, alongside CLD to ensure that all aspects of security and safety are covered in the design brief. And CLD's technical team is there to support right through the installation process.

Entertainment, Leisure & Zoos FAQs
At CLD Systems, we provide a wide range of zoo and wildlife fencing. Each is designed and manufactured to ensure both safety and security. For both the animals within the enclosure and for visitors who are viewing the animals. We are able to do this by working closely with industry professionals, throughout our process.
As with any business, every zoo or wildlife facility will have different requirements and fencing needs in order to provide the correct level of protection. So, it is vital that we provide various options that meet the necessary standards.
Our double-wire fencing options include:
- Lion enclosure fencing
- Tiger enclosure fencing
- Monkey enclosures
- Perimeter fencing
- Enclosure air lock gate systems
- Decorative fencing
- Zoo fencing
- Wildlife park fencing
- Security gates for feed areas
By offering this wide range of enclosure fencing, we’re able to meet the needs of zoos and wildlife facilities across the country. As well as being able to supply the relevant fencing to different areas of a zoo or park.
Our fencing provides safety, and security, and is durable, whilst allowing for great visibility. However, we understand that each site is individual, and that is why our team will work alongside you to ensure requirements are met.
For example, a wire fencing enclosure for an elephant needs to meet the correct specifications to ensure it cannot for example fit its trunk through the gaps of the fencing. This same rule stands for all the different projects we work on, and so communication with the zoos and their specialists is at the core of every project we take on.
Safety and security are of absolute importance when it comes to zoo fencing. That’s why we only work with specialist zoo fencing-approved contractors for our zoo and wildlife fencing projects.
At CLD Systems, we appreciate that many animals within zoos are extremely intelligent, meaning it’s vital that your fencing enclosures help to protect endangered species. Whilst keeping out any unauthorised personnel from accessing enclosures. Offering complete security for a range of potential eventualities.
Our priority when designing and manufacturing our fencing is the safety of both the animals and visitors. That’s why we work closely with zoo advisors, the police, and a range of other specialists. Ensuring that the enclosures we create are secure, offer protection, and offer a visual appeal.
Good zoo fencing must meet the most stringent requirements. With over 50 years of experience working within the industry, we’re confident that we can meet and exceed these standards. We have worked alongside some of the biggest and most well-loved zoos up and down the country. CLD continues to provide reliable, attractive, and effective zoo enclosure fencing for not only new enclosures but for upgrades too.
When designing and manufacturing a zoo enclosure, we must first communicate with the zoo and its specialists to ensure the type of enclosure we create is appropriate for its tenants (the animals). This can require research and liaising with experts to guarantee that the fencing system is safe and secure. Plus, able to withstand any eventuality.
We previously created a lion enclosure that measured 17ft high. This ensured that there was zero chance of a lion jumping, and clearing the fencing, as well as no chance that a person could climb the fencing and get into the enclosure.
Of course, enclosure fencing for smaller animals may not require such height. Whilst certain species may require an entire fencing and roof enclosure to maintain security – such as a monkey enclosure. In short, there really is no benchmark for how zoo fencing should be, and each project we take on is bespoke to the zoo and its purpose.
Zoo and wildlife park fencing is an essential part of the building and construction process, which enables both animals and visitors to be kept safe. But in order to maintain high levels of security, certain measures must be followed.
For example, where dangerous carnivorous animals are enclosed, access gates must be protected by fencing. This fencing must have been positioned at right angles to the perimeter fencing on either side of the roadway within the enclosure.
If electric fencing is used in any enclosure, this must be checked daily. There must also be a backup power supply, in the case of a power cut.
For some enclosures where non-domestic animals are kept, they may not require overnight containment. However, for some, predator-proof fencing is essential overnight.
