Permanent Security
London City Heights Academy

Project Overview
City Heights Academy in London opened its doors back in September 2013; with a brand new, purpose-built campus featuring CLD’s unique school security fencing with bespoke colours.
The plan for the new academy was to create a co-education school for students aged 11 to 19, sharing the site with Fenstanton Primary School. CLD Systems designed and manufactured the school security fencing, adding an aesthetically pleasing fence line as well as providing the school with safety and security for its pupils.
The fencing system needed to affirm the new connection between the primary school and the academy. In order to do so, the landscape architects Place Design + Planning, required the fencing to integrate the colours of both schools, with yellow for the primary school and the darker red and orange for the academy.
CLD Fencing Systems also supplied school sports fencing around their pitches and other boundaries using our range of Dulok Sport. This range is specifically designed for tennis courts, football grounds, and similar sporting facilities where a secure yet high-performance fence is required.

The Brief
The requirements for this project were set out by the academy and are as follows. The safety of the students was of the utmost importance when designing the building and the school security fencing.
- A divide between the playground and their car park to ensure students safety.
- They wanted their school security fencing to be visually appealing with the use of bright colours, and so it was an essential part of the design to incorporate the colours of both schools.
Systems Used

We wanted to incorporate bright colours into the design of the building and this was the same for the school security fencing. The fence line needed to aesthetically complement the colours of the building; CLD Systems were able to provide a wide range of RAL colours to match those of the two schools coming together.
