Project Overview

The Diocese of Blackburn and the Methodist Circuit commissioned a £5.5 million project to update Trinity Church of England Methodist Primary School in Buckshaw Village, near Chorley Lancashire.

The project was to provide a state-of-the-art outdoor play space with a multi-use games area, habitat garden, and two junior-sized football pitches for the 200 pupils who attend.

The principal architect for both the school buildings and outdoor play spaces was Cassidy + Ashton who worked with CLD Systems throughout the entire project. The fencing and gate solutions were installed by one of our Installer Partners giving the project a 15-year manufacturer’s guarantee against defects. The project has gone from strength to strength since it was commissioned and seen the Pencil Fencing system used on a number of other school fencing projects around the United Kingdom.

The Brief

Cassidy + Ashton set a brief to create a coordinated school fencing design that covered the following areas.

  • An attractive and fun demarcation line
  • Fencing suitable for MUGA Pitches
  • Meet the project budget for fencing and access control
  • Provide optimal safety for over 200 pupils

The children love their new school and fencing. We set out to create inspirational buildings and play areas that teachers and the community could be proud of. It’s been challenging and it’s so exciting the final results are making a difference in young people’s lives.
