On Board ’21 with CLD Fencing Systems

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, it had been nearly 18 months since the CLD team had come together as one to celebrate and acknowledge the wins and hard work from everyone in the team!
So, what better way to celebrate than to get all departments on board a first-team bus and visit some of the flagship projects that had been worked on over the last few years across the Northwest. Projects from Chester Zoo to Merseyside Police HQ, Manchester Airport to Manchester City Football Ground; the team were able to witness first-hand the amazing work they do to get these systems designed, manufactured, and supplied to the site.
The highlight of the trip for me was probably seeing the finished jobs, because sales get the first contact with the customer, I (procurement) buy the materials to go into manufacturing, but I never see the end product first-hand. So, for me it was a closed cycle to go from beginning to the end, and I felt really proud to see how many places we can reach and how good it looks.

With lots of merchandise including drinking flasks, branded jackets, and a handy colleague brochure, for the whole team to enjoy, we were off! With the CLD team having grown so much over the last couple of years, the journeys were split into two teams with one in the morning and another in the afternoon! Making sure that both teams had a variety of colleagues from different departments for them to discuss personal achievements and understand department goals.
The number one highlight for me was seeing the vast amounts of our products around the area. Driving down the road looking left and right, there would be our fence systems and gates. They would have been products we’d have picked & packed and just seeing them out there was brilliant.

Lunchtime was a chance for everyone across the whole of CLD to catch up with each other over a fantastic hog roast and a classic ice cream. This was the perfect opportunity for colleagues to collaborate with one another and learn more about the goals of CLD over the next 3-5 years.
We are One Team on time… On Board ’21.
