Barrier Netting – Tottenham Hotspur

CLD Fencing Systems Ball Stop Barrier Netting helps Tottenham Hotspur play out the season during the demolition of White Hart Lane.
When work on the new £750million Stadium for Tottenham Hotspur saw the existing North-East corner of White Hart Lane demolished, the Football Association required a barrier netting system to be installed that would secure the open construction area during games. CLD Fencing Systems were approached by the Grounds Team and given the brief to design the following:
A system that would prevent balls entering the construction area
One that would be aesthetically pleasing
Fit in with the Tottenham Hotspur brand
Offer a safe and secure system for spectators

Working on the brief, Anthony Wells; Managing Partner wanted to push the envelope of design. With CLD Fencing Systems Ball Stop Netting being used by over half of the Premier League teams already on their training facilities, the first choice was a bespoke Sports Fencing system featuring this product.

The final design was worked in a CAD environment, before approval by the club and construction partners allowed manufacturing to begin at CLDs factory in Cheshire. The system featured:
- Custom Struts and Posts
- 458m² Triangular Ball Stop Netting in Tottenham Blue
- Unique Winching System
The Tottenham Hotspur Sports Fencing was installed in Early November 2016 and has enabled the team to continue to play all their domestic home games safely and in line with the requirements of the Football Association. The netting will pay witness to the very last game to be played at White Hart Lane at the end of the 16/17 season before Tottenham move to Wembley Stadium for the 17/18 season which will allow White Hart Lane to be demolished and the new stadium completed in time for the first game of the 18/19 season.
