High Security Fence Secures UK Police Station

When a major upgrade to the Metropolitan Police Training Centre at Hendon was carried out the first choice for the Police Station High-Security Fencing was CLD’s Securus AC LPS1175 SR2 High-Security Fencing and Lockmaster SR2 Swing Gate System. Being the public-facing defense line on Aerodrome Road and mounted to an existing wall the project required CLD’s in-house CAD and Engineering team to design a system that would retain the LPS1175 approval as well as match the security requirements of the premier police training college in London.
It isn’t just the Metropolitan Police who benefit from CLD’s high-security fencing. In 2012 Cumbria Constabulary set out on a 3-year project to design and build a new Policing Unit for the South Cumbria Area Team to be located in Barrow-in-Furness. The new facility was to replace existing premises in both Barrow-in-Furness and Ulverston town centres.
With a requirement to establish a secure rear compound with parking for staff and operational buildings; including garaging buildings for Operational and Response vehicles, a secure custody wing with a secure vehicle dock, and workshop buildings, the world’s first Security Rated Cantilever Sliding Gate was selected in the form of the Slidemaster SR1 LPS1175 High-Security Gate System. This unique security system matched the architectural design of the new police station, which has quickly become a landmark in the Cumbrian landscape.
