CLD Fencing Systems supplies 6km of security fencing and gates solutions for Travis Perkins Regional Distribution Centre.
Travis Perkins, the UK’s largest timber and builder’s merchant, has begun operations from its brand new Regional Distribution Centre in the Burtonwood area of Warrington. The 11 acre site means that all 150 branches in the region can now promise customers in the North West that if a product is not already in stock, it will be there by the next day.
The RDC enables branches, whatever their size, to provide builders and contractors across the North West of England access to the most comprehensive range of building materials in the industry. Not only will Travis Perkins now be able to promise a greater product range and improved availability, it also means that all 150 branches in the region will be able to offer a full tool and equipment hire service.
CLD Fencing Systems were involved early on in the construction process with the main contractor. The challenge was to find a suitable distribution security fencing system to give the client enough security as well as being completely aesthetically pleasing to the eye as the RDC building is in full view of the M62 motorway in an iconic position. CLD Fencing Systems have supplied 6km of Eclipse Profiled Fencing System and Gates Solutions over the whole development. The Business Development Manager said “The corporate feel and sense of sophistication was truly amazing as you drove through the different sites“.
The solution was relatively simple for the huge distribution centre as CLD Fencing Systems have over 25 systems to choose from, ranging from simple and secure boundary demarcation to very high secure fencing and access control systems. To demonstrate this CLD supplied samples of the Eclipse Profiled Panel System which met the client’s criteria for aesthetics and security.
The Travis Perkins RDC is due to open in 2015 after a 12 month construction period with the main contractor.
